The Aviatrix
New steampunk/pinup drawing I made this evening. I used one of last week's keyhole session sketches as a base.

Random thought about genres
I only delve about two-thirds of the way into any given style, genre or sub-culture.
The remaining third is usually thick with pretentiousness, stale ideas and an inability to analyze the merit of one's work in a wider context.

Keyhole Sessions
Just attended Keyhole Sessions for the first time (not including a drop in on Nuit Blanche) and loved it. I'll definitely be attending regularly. Here are my best sketches from the night:

Girl Sculpture 1
I've started a series of dark steampunk sculptures. I try to do them within a short span to avoid overworking them, this was about 4-5 hours start to finish. This is the first one.

Wedding Present
Going to get back to using this blog to post work. First up, a wedding present for the upcoming union of ADDEccentric and Pretty Poopie :
And this is the custom. One side is the bride, the other is the groom. As wedding presents go, this is kinda terrifying. My wife was glad to have it out of the house.

Miskatonic Campus Pals!
It's a wacky cast of characters from everyone's favourite house of learning, fun and unspeakable cosmic horror: Miskatonic University!
Henry Armitage, Head Librarian
Comes with a subdued copy of the Necronomicon, plus keys to the safe that contains rare volumes such as Unaussprechlichen Kulten and the Book of Eibon.
(Name unpronounceable) Student Exchange Liaison
(Name unpronounceable) hails from the University of R'lyeh. Comes with staff of Infinite Cosmic Power and brochure: "Is R'lyeh right for you?"
Professor Gilman, Department of Applied Mathematics
Able to use geometry to travel between space and time. He'll still show up 20 minutes late for class though. Comes with interdimensional portal and tenure.
Cthuley, the School Mascot
This costume is often stolen as a prank by students from the University of R'lyeh (whose mascot is Lovey, a racist American horror writer)
Dean Dunsany
With Miskatonic's student body made up of occultists, nightgaunts, terrors beyond knowing and professors constantly looking for more funding (or body parts) it's understandable that the Dean hasn't slept in thirty years.
Kelly Shoggoth, Residence Advisor, Dunwich Hall
Kelly loves organizing pep rallies, dorm mixers and study sessions. Her door is always open if you need to talk. Just don't get caught with an open bottle of alcohol in the halls or she'll tear your bones out!
